TGIF : How about a slice of Turkish bootleg Star Wars ?

Nov 07

What do you do if your name is  Çetin İnanç , its 1982 and you are running out of idea’s for your next movie ?  Simple : You start directing the epic adventure flick called : Dünyayı Kurtaran Adam  (The Man Who Saved the World). A wonderful B-movie full of horrible sets, bad acting, shaky storylines and Star Wars scenes.  Wait .. WHAT ? Indeed , you read that right. To “dress up” his production of “The man who saved the world” (a movie that has a story line that does not even bother to be better then a 70’s pornflick) he used stock footage from Star Wars “A new hope”. For tunes he stole the theme songs from Battlestar Galactica and Indiana Jones to liven up the movie and apparently had no idea that something like “copyright” ever existed. Funny enough the movie became an instant cult classic , so who are we to keep you from its amazing trailer .. Enjoy and try not to ruin your shirt when your eyes and ears start bleeding.

Link :  Here is the terrible truth about the movie on Wikipedia.

BONUS : It appears you are still conscious after watching the trailer, so we will give you this little easter egg : How about a full TURKISH STAR TREK movie ?   Have a nice weekend !

Yes geeks ! It is FFFRRRRiday ! That means we let go of the otherwise pretty serious geekyness and dive  into the obscure anals of the internet. ( Wait .. that came out wrong … Oh, that too)  Never mind. What we have for you is 2 hours and 8 minutes of content for which the very internet was created in the first place. Forget science, progress, communications and global economy .. forget Porn .. THIS is why we have the internet . Remember how George Lucs  gets to tinker with the original Star Wars trilogy all the time ? Well .. Fans can do that too. Stand by for 2 hours of handcrafted entertainment with rebel soldiers made out of balloons, 8 bit fighting scenes in the rebel base, cartoons, bad acting and STAR DESTROYERS MADE OUT OF PIZZA … yes ! PIZZA … Forget anything I type after this .. let go of your feelings .. and press the friggin play button for absolute MADNESS ! !

We are back from a couple of busy weeks off in real-world land and got straight back into the Knightwise.com grind by breaking out the camera and interview gear. Reason for that was our coverage of the annual “Fanday”, organised by Teekay421, the Belgian Star Wars fanclub. When we were done doing the interviews ( to be published later this week ), we took some pictures. Have a peek and get a nice preview of things to come later on this week. Enjoy.

Inside every geek there is a string of DNA that jumps up and down with joy once you mention the words “Anime, Manga, Scifi and Cosplay”. The proof is in the pudding as thousands of geeks travel to dragon and Comicon every year. In the little country of Belgium we have a similar movement of geeks and like minded people to the annual F.A.C.T.S. event ( The Belgian version of Comicon) and every year the Knightwise.com crew walks in the daylight to go out and cover the event. With two cameramen, a photographer and an anchorman we try to bring you a sense of what it’s like to wander the show floor in Belgium’s biggest Nerdfest. Last Saturday we pounded the pavement and shot over 13 interviews with cosplayers, fanclubs, game developers, comic artists and toysellers. While we are hard at work editing all that footage down into a video podcast (Its gonna take some time ,we all still have dayjobs) we CAN give you a sneak peek at what to expect. Knightwise.com’s new star photog Niejana gives you a nice ‘behind the scenes’ view of what you can expect when we release the video footage later on this week. Stand by for Trolls, Timelords, Red Riding hoods and giant Tie-Fighters with the “FACTS 2013 Behind the scenes photo shoot”.
